There are two main reasons why I make my bed every morning. Much to my parents dismay though, this wasn’t a trait I picked up until after I had moved out of home, but it definitely could have saved many arguments if I had adopted it sooner.
I like to stick to routines most days, and my morning routine consists of jumping out of bed and straight away putting all of my pillows in order and tucking the sheets in neatly. The room instantly looks less cluttered and it gives you a sense of achievement. You have already ticked your first deliverable off your list for the day and all before you’ve even had breakfast. It can really motivate you and get you ready to tackle the day ahead.
Not only is it great to get you up and going in the mornings, but by the time I get home at night, usually exhausted and stressed, there is no better feeling than coming home to a clean house. I can walk in and feel an instant sense of calm as I look at my beautifully made and super comfortable bed ready to be slept in.
It is a small task that many overlook as not important, but I cannot praise highly enough how much good simply making your bed can do.
